Thousands of tourists are being flown from the island
A number of different evacuation flights are running from Rhodes to the UK as massive wildfires break out in the Greek island.
The company also cancelled all flights and holidays due to depart for Rhodes up to Sunday, July 30, in an effort to assure customers and to avoid putting pressure on the island. Jet2 says it has contacted affected customers with rebooking and refund options.According to Jet2, the repatriation flights are:
The first repatriation flight flew into Leeds Bradford Airport on Sunday evening with 95 passengers. Customers were provided with ground transportation. Staffed transfer coaches are taking customers to the airport from evacuation centres today. A spokesperson for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: "We understand how difficult this experience has been for many, and our entire focus is on looking after our customers.
