WA Boxing Day bushfire flares as emergency warning declared for Stirling Ranges
A bushfire which has been burning in a national park in southern Western Australia has jumped containment lines and is threatening lives and homes.
A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for people in an area east of the Stirling Range National Park and Chester Pass Road, west of Borden-Bremer Bay Road and north of Chillinup Road in the shire of Gnowangerup and the City of Albany.The fire was reported on Boxing Day evening and so far 10,920 hectares have been burnt.About 100 firefighters are on the ground and aerial support has been sent to assist.
