Veteran Emily Gielnik, who starred in the Matildas' 3-1 victory over Chinese Taipei, not only shone on the pitch but also made a heartfelt gesture by giving away her signed shirt to three fans, including a young girl holding a sign with her name.

Matildas veteran Emily Gielnik has made the dreams of three fans come true with a beautiful gesture after Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Chinese Taipei in Melbourne. Gielnik started up front for the second-string Matildas and was heavily involved in the home side’s first two goals.

Emily Gielnik sends Matildas fans wild. She helped win the corner that resulted in Tash Prior’s opener in the 10th minute, and two minutes later her stinging shot cannoned off the crossbar into the path of Sharn Freier to head home. After starring on the pitch, the veteran showed her class off it in the aftermath of the match. Gielnik found three young fans in the crowd, one of which was holding a sign with the 32-year-old’s name on it.
