Energy expert Aidan Morrison has hit out at the Albanese government’s 'bill lowering nirvana” message, after the Australian Energy Market Ooperator conceded there was no guarantee Labor could ensure lower power prices with its renewable energy policies.

An energy expert has revealed he was not surprised by AEMO 's admission it cannot guarantee renewables would reduce power prices, but instead at the"remarkable" length of time the Albanese government has peddled a"bill lowering nirvana" story to Australia n households.

AEMO chief executive Daniel Westerman told a Senate committee there could be no guarantee for lower energy prices under the Labor government's renewables scheme. Picture: News Corp Australia “There's absolutely no guarantee this is the least cost system we could have overall, there’s certainly no guarantee that the prices go down because they haven't put all the costs in there,” he said.“They haven't modelled huge parts of the story which are going to push consumers to buy their own storage systems to firm the whole grid so it was always very clear there was no way they could ever make that claim.

However, Mr Morrison said by looking at the “fine print” of the government’s energy plan it could not be guaranteed power prices would fall.Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen told the ABC in July last year renewables were the “cheapest form of energy available”.
