Jude Bellingham scored England’s first goal of Euro 2024 England edged to a nervy 1-0 victory over Serbia in their opening game of Euro 2024, with Jude Bellingham heading in the winning goal. The Real Madrid superstar inspired the Three Lions to victory but despite a dominant first-half the Eagles were superb in the second and caused Gareth Southgate far more problems than expected.
If Southgate was hoping his side would press home their advantage early in the second-half he was in for a rude awakening, with the Eagles flying out of the trap after the break. Dusan Vlahovic came close to setting up an equaliser but his pass just missed Filip Mladenovic and was cleared away by Trippier, and the opposition wanted a penalty minutes later after the Newcastle star muscled Mitrovic to the ground after some more great build-up play.
