ICYMI: German fans feel their side was unlucky after losing 2-1 to England in the Women's European Championship
Sarina Wiegman's team beat Germany 2-1 after extra time to claim their first ever major title in front of a record crowd on home soil, with almost 90,000 fans filling the London stadium, including thousands of children and families.
"It is my hope that you will be as proud of the impact you have had on your sport as you are of the result today." By Sunday a Royal Air Force flypast with an all-female crew took to the skies over Wembley, while 87,192 fans gathered in the stadium - the highest total recorded in either the men's or women's editions of the tournament.
