Mr Williams, who commenced the role of chair in March, expressed it was vital for reporters to be objective and for staff to be “fair-minded”. Mr Van Onselen claimed the chances of Mr Williams fulfilling this goal were slim because the ability to change the culture at the ABC was “beyond any one chair”.
