Hawthorn defender Jack Scrimshaw will definitely miss next week’s clash with Carlton as he enters concussion protocols, but his stint on the sidelines could stretch out further than that. Scrimshaw will be scrutinised by the AFL ’s match review officer for a high hit on Essendon defender Jordan Ridley, who was later subbed out of the game with concussion.

Ridley initially played on after the incident, but was later pulled out of the game by club medical doctors, as 7NEWS Melbourne’s Xander McGuire explained after the game on Extra Time. “It’s a big watch on how this really all unfolds,” Mcguire said. “There’s that knock with Jack Scrimshaw there. Ridley actually pushed the doctors off afterwards, played on for 15 minutes.
