The European Union aims to establish a “trust fund” for Ukraine while it battles Russia’s invasion and rebuilds afterwards, as the country’s president,Leaders from the 27-nation bloc will gather in Brussels on Thursday to discuss its response to Moscow’s onslaught on, including a longer-term financial support mechanism beyond the €1.2bn in emergency funding already agreed.
