Russia has recently reopened the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline after a ten-day shut down for maintenance, amid speculation the country could cut off supply through the system
entirely in response to Western sanctions.“Energy politics normally is real politics because it’s such a big chunk of the fabric which we have in every sophisticated society.”
