Arson attacks on the Eurostar have resulted in severe delays for passengers hoping to head to Paris

Eurostar passengers faced further disruption on Saturday due to a string of arson attacks on the French rail network, coinciding with the beginning of the Olympic Games. London St Pancras-based international rail operator, Eurostar, announced that one in every four trains would be unable to travel over the weekend period. The unfortunate news meant four journeys from London to Paris were cancelled on Saturday, and disruptions are forecasted to carry on until Monday.

A series of incidents running into Friday had adversely affected travel to and from London, Belgium, and different parts of France: west, north, and east, reported French rail company SNCF. In a report by the Associated Press news agency, French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal mentioned that the vandals had strategically targeted the main routes towards Paris.
