Fire crews are preparing for extreme fire danger conditions today as the state's bushfire emergency worsens. High winds and temperatures in the upper 30 degrees are forecasted for Tuesday, putting more than 80 per cent of Queensland under total fire bans. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Commander of Operators Peter Hollier said the extreme conditions will put pressure on the firefighters and containment lines.
“Today is the peak of the activity but again we’re looking forward to opportunities as conditions ease in the coming days,” Mr Hollier told Sky News Australia.”
