EVE Award winners help immigrants, the uninsured, the jobless: 'EVE sees needs and fills them'

Three Jacksonville-area women who are changing the world around them were honored today as 2022 Florida Times-Union EVE Award winners.

Carson is a "two-time" immigrant whose family came from Cuba to Canada and then to the United States. She leads an immigration team that"provides peace of mind for employers and foreign workers," she said."We're proud to partner with employers to hire and retain immigrants who contribute to our communities in ways that go far beyond their impact on the economy."

She also leads a family nonprofit that oversees an annual Christmas toy giveaway for Clay County children and provides scholarships. The EVE Awards speaker was Kimberly Allen, CEO of 904Ward, a nonprofit she helped found that studies racial disparities in Jacksonville and recommends ways to advance racial equity. She was a 2021 winner.
