A knife-wielding man has been shot dead in Sydney's southwest after he allegedly attempted to stab a police officer. "They confronted the 34-year-old male who was still armed with the knife. A taser was deployed without success. The male then rushed toward the officer who had discharged the taser and at this time was in close proximity to the police officer. Another officer has then fired two shots into the torso of the 34-year-old male. Police commenced C-P-R and tried to maintain the life of the male for an extended period, assisted by ambulance.
