Everrati adds '70s hero to its growing electrified lineup ⚡
The rumours suggest that Porsche is putting the finishing touches to its next Heritage car, one to follow-up last year’s reinvention, the. That was based on the 992 Turbo, but the next-in-line is thought to be the GT3 Touring-based 911 ST. Can’t wait for that one, for sure. But at the other end of the market, Everrati Automotive has just announced its own reinvention of the classic 911 ST.
The original model was produced in small numbers between 1970 and ’71. It was a low-weight racer that took advantage of changes to FIA rules to include wider tyres for greater competitiveness on track. The customer racers weighed around 900kg and were offered with tuned, high-revving versions of the famous flat-six. STs proved competitive, too, at endurance races such as Daytona, Sebring, the Nürburgring and the Targa Florio.
Everrati’s interpretation doesn’t have a flat six, though. This Oxfordshire-based specialist in the integration of electric powertrains into classic cars has produced a zero-emissions ST, with an electric motor instead of the traditional air-cooled offering. Hold your horses with the booing, please. No, the Everrati ST won’t rasp away from behind your ears, but to make up for that it does have 440hp going to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. That means it’s a lot quicker than the original, with a sub-four-second 0-60mph time. The 62kWh battery also gives it a quoted range of 200 miles, although probably less if you exploit that level of acceleration too often.
This ‘70s-inspired look is built around a G-Series car, and along with 21st-century propulsion it also has 21st-century tech elsewhere.
