Alex Iwobi had to come off injured early in the second half of Everton's Premier League clash at Aston Villa.
Injury has been added to insult for Everton after Alex Iwobi joined Dominic Calvert-Lewin in coming off in their Premier League clash at Aston Villa.
Iwobi was forced off in the 51st minute after appearing to suffer a hamstring injury. The midfielder - who did not miss a match for Everton last season - was replaced by striker Neal Maupay, who had started on the bench after losing his place in the starting line-up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Calvert-Lewin was making his first start of the season. However, it lasted just 36 minutes after he eventually succumb to a nasty-looking cheekbone injury he sustained early on after a collision with the Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.LIVE: Follow live updates from Everton's Premier League clash at Aston Villa
New signing Arnaut Danjama replaced the England striker before Blues boss Sean Dyche, with his side trailing 2-0, made a further change at the break as he swapped Idrissa Gueye for Lewis Dobbin. But the change did not pay off and moments after Iwobi's enforced withdrawal, Leon Bailey took advantage of a dreadful error from Michael Keane to put Villa 3-0 in front.
