A separate report fromadds that Everton are ‘making a late transfer bid’ for Ayew. They have ‘turned to’ the 33-year-old to ‘solve their scoring issues’.: ‘Everton cast around in order to try and bring in a forward, with their issues exacerbated by the fact their budget is limited.’
If Sky Sports are to be believed, Everton face competition from Nottingham Forest for Ayew, as both Premier League clubs have been ‘offered’ the player.as they look to secure him a move back to the Premier League. Steve Cooper ‘likes’ Ayew as the head coach worked with him at Swansea. Though it is noted that Forest ‘currently do not have enough room in their squad to accommodate him’.
Knowing how Everton have fared in recent weeks, it would not be a surprise at all if relegation rivals Forest were to beat them to the signing of the free agent. Ayew has previously had spells in the Premier League with Swansea City and West Ham. His last season in England was in 2020/21 for the Swans in the Championship. He netted 17 goals across all competitions that term.
