Sean Dyche believes Demarai Gray can play a role for his side after a summer of speculation over his future
The winger appeared likely to leave the club this summer, with interest from clubs including Premier League rivals Fulham and sides in Saudi Arabia. He has not been involved in a matchday squad since his return from international action with Jamaica - missing pre-season friendlies, the opening four games of the league season and the Carabao Cup tie with Doncaster Rovers.
Less than 24 hours later, however, a post on the 27-year-old’s Instagram account appeared to express unhappiness with the manager.READ MORE: 'Don't show you respect' - Demarai Gray appears to aim dig at Sean Dyche in Instagram post The Blues boss has cited fitness issues as the reason behind Gray’s matchday absence over the past month and, asked why the player was not involved at Sheffield United, he said: “It was a bit of everything - his fitness, his fitness to play in the side, the situation around him and all of the noise. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks that will become clear and he will get himself fit as a start point.
