Naruto and Boruto were the protagonists of the first day of Jump Festa 2023, with a long panel full of announcements. While the news was not what fans were expecting, there are still many exciting initiatives coming in 2023 for Naruto and Boruto.
During the first day of Jump Festa 2023, three of the iconic Japanese Voice actors from the Naruto and Boruto anime took to the stage to share with the world the hottest news concerning the beloved franchise. First, Naruto will hold a new popularity contest in early 2023, called "NARUTOP99", which will let fans worldwide vote for their favorite among an impressive roster of more than 400 characters.
The Naruto Anime Remake Is Not Coming After All - But Sasuke's Story Is There were a lot of expectations surrounding this panel because 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime. Some fans believed that a remake of the anime would be announced, following the beautiful tribute video that Studio Pierrot created for the anniversary, which shows some of the most iconic scenes of the series, remade with modern tools and technology.
The final announcements were reserved for the Boruto anime. While news of the adaptation of Sasuke's Story was already leaked a few days before Jump Festa, the announcement of the Code Attack Arc is actual news. This is the latest story arc in the Boruto manga, which has introduced new, controversial characters such as Eida and Daemon. Fans were waiting for the Boruto anime to catch up with the manga, after a long string of filler episodes, and they finally have a date: February 2023.
