'Every three months': Qld's top doctor warns of another COVID wave

Queensland's third COVID-19 wave has peaked earlier than expected with cases dropping significantly across the state - but Chief Health Officer has John Gerrard warned it 'is not over yet'.

Dr Gerrard then shared further data on the COVID-19 drop in the Sunshine State.

In the same time period, Queensland reported 1,306 health care staff had the virus, compared to 2,365 on July 26 - a 45 per cent drop.Queensland’s Chief Health Officer has confirmed the peak of the latest wave has passed. Federal Health Minister Mark Butler last week said data indicated the peak of the latest COVID-19 wave has passed but warned it was still too early to tell.
