The Accession Council ceremony will be televised for the first time this morning
King Charles III will be formally proclaimed monarch during an Accession Council ceremony televised for the first time on Saturday, September 10.
At 11am the Principal Proclamation then follows. It will be read from the balcony overlooking Friary Court at St James’s Palace. The proclamation will be read by the Garter King of Arms, accompanied by the Earl Marshal, other Officers of Arms and the Serjeants at Arms. This will be the first public reading of the proclamation.
All games in the Women's Super League, Women's Championship and Women's FA Cup have also been postponed this weekend. The west country derby between Bristol and Bath at Ashton Gate, plus Sale's home clash with Northampton, have been rearranged, with the former now taking place on Saturday and the latter on Sunday.
