Evolution Mining sees better days ahead after fifth consecutive slump in gold production.

Evolution Mining says it is on track for a sharp increase in gold production after conceding operational performance failed to live up to shareholder expectations in 2022-23.

The forecast boost in production is in spite of Evolution facing cost pressures amid labour shortages across the industry and in particular Western Australia.after Evolution’s Mungari mine in WA was hit by absenteeism and rain affected operations at the Cowal mine in NSW. Evolution said that while operational performance in the past twelve months “did not deliver to shareholders or our expectations” it ended the year in better position for 2022-23., in particular the Cowal underground mine development and the new Upper Campbell underground mine at Red Lake in Canada.
