Ewan McGregor returns to screens with wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead in upcoming Paramount+ TV series A Gentleman In Moscow, and he's been speaking about how he's always accused by fans of not being true to his Scots roots.
Ewan McGregor has opened up about leaving Scotland at the age of 17, admitting that he's been slammed in the past for forgetting his roots. The Obi-Wan Kenobi star revealed that he is often told to 'remember where I come from', but reassured fans he is Scottish 'wherever I am in the world'.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he revealed: “I left Scotland at 17 to go to drama school in London. I haven’t lived in Britain since 2008, I’ve been living in the States."People in Scotland to this day tell me to remember where I come from. I know where I come from!“I’m Scottish wherever I am in the world. I’m always Scottish!"
He will play Alexander Rostov in the historical fiction drama about a Russian aristocrat who is spared from death and put under house arrest during the Bolshevik Revolution.
