The former principal of Akron's East High School sued the district, saying he was wrongfully fired after he was acquitted on charges that accused him of assaulting a student.CLEVELAND, Ohio — A former Akron principal sued the school board on Friday, seeking more than $1 million after he was arrested and later acquitted of hitting a student.
Akron Public Schools spokesman Mark Williamson said the district “will withhold comment as to not influence pending litigation.”stemming from a September 2019 incident in which he hit a 15-year-old student at East High School after the student called him a “lazy a-s b---h.” The district suspended him without pay in November 2019 and officially terminated his contract in July.
