Paul Kenny’s company Ambulance Scotland handled huge contracts overseeing Scotland’s biggest events but it collapsed amid safety fears and a finance probe.
The former boss of one of Scotland’s leading private medical firms which collapsed amid a probe into finances has filed for bankruptcy with debts of half-a-million pounds.
A source told the Record: “Ambulance Scotland was once a lucrative firm responsible for public safety at some of the country’s most major events but it has now been dissolved and its former director has revealed huge debts.Ambulance Scotland won the contract to oversee the country’s biggest indoor arena, the SSE Hydro, in 2017 and manned major events like TRNSMT and Hampden gigs as well as providing private ambulances for the NHS.
A former paramedic struck off over the death of a pensioner was among staff working for the firm but the decision to employ her as a first aider was defended by Kenny. The man and woman, then both 47, were later charged by tax officers, who have delegated powers to carry out their own criminal investigations.
Amvale confirmed that after a “large investment”, it would take on the firm’s staff, fleet of vehicles, medical equipment and a training centre while running its business under newly incorporated Amvale Scotland.
