Disgraced Kenneth Divers was caged for abusing boys between 1968 and 1992.
An ex-Celtic scout has been jailed for today for the sexual abuse of boys. Disgraced former teacher Kenneth Divers was caged for five years and placed on the sex offenders' register for life for preying on boys as young as 11 between 1968 and 1992.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard the sex offender still denies any wrongdoing despite being found unanimously guilty of all five charges he faced. The case was delayed by around 30minutes due to a shortage of security officers to bring Divers up to the dock from the cells in the court building. The frail 78-year-old hobbled into the dock around 10.30am wearing a blue sweatshirt and grey joggers. Sheriff Brian Mohan then slammed the "selfish" pensioner for his actions and said his victims had been left mentally scarred by his abuse.
The sheriff said he had groomed the youngsters by gaining the trust of them and their families and then abusing them in private. Divers showed no emotion as he learned his sentence and was led away in handcuffs.
