The ex girlfriend of killer Alexander McKellar said he has escaped real justice after being convicted of culpable homicide and not murder.

McKellar was sentenced to 12 years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday for killing and burying grandfather Tony Parsons in 2017.

Caroline said Mr Parsons’ family have had to wait longer to see justice for what happened than the twins could spend behind bars and called the sentencing “no punishment at all”. It means Robert McKellar could be free in less than a year while Alexander McKellar could be out before Christmas 2027.
