The 22-year-old man, who is no longer with the department, faces charges including falsely reporting a crime and concealing the death of the 16-year-old girl who disappeared in July.
An ex-Georgia police officer has been charged in connection to the death of a missing teenager after an arrest warrant provided toMiles Bryant, who worked as an officer for the City of Doraville Police Department, was arrested Monday in connection with the death of 16-year-old Susana Morales, the Gwinnett County Police Department said in a news release.
Gwinnett police said Morales' family told the department the teen disappeared the night of July 26. Her cell phone and video footage showed her walking in the direction of her home, police said, but detectives have reason to believe she may have gotten into a vehicle. Although Doraville city officials reported Bryant was no longer with the department, they did not say whether he was fired or resigned.
