A former Goldman Sachs CEO hammered Elizabeth Warren for targeting him in a new campaign advertisement
Former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein on Thursday hammered Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren for targeting him in a new campaign advertisement, and mocked the Massachusetts senator for her past claims of Native American ancestry.
“Surprised to be featured in Sen Warren’s campaign ad, given the many severe critics she has out there. Not my candidate, but we align on many issues,” Blankfein“Vilification of people as a member of a group may be good for her campaign, not the country. Maybe tribalism is just in her DNA,” he added.
“I guarantee you built it at least in part using workers all of us help pay to educate, getting your goods to market on roads and bridges all of us help pay to build,” she continues. “We’re Americans. We want to make these investments. All we’re saying is when you make it big, pitch in two cents so everybody else gets a chance to make it.”
As Warren competes for her party’s nomination to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020, she has drawn some criticism from fellow Democrats for her sustained attacks on big corporations and the financial elite.
