The United Kingdom’s shortest-serving Prime Minister Liz Truss has lost her seat to Labour by less than 700 votes as the Tories endure a catastrophic election loss.
Sir Keir Starmer and Labour's thumping election victory has cut short many high-profile political careers with one former prime minister losing their seat in a shock result.
The political whitewash was most emblematic in the loss of Ms Truss - who’s shockingly brief 49-day stint as Prime Minister was In the 2019 election Ms Truss won her seat, South West Norfolk, by a 26,000 vote majority after thrashing Labour candidate Emily Blake who brought in just 18 per cent of the vote.
