Donovan Smith, who's transferring to Houston, helped beat the Cougars with Texas Tech this season in Lubbock.Former Texas Tech quarterback Donovan Smith announced Tuesday night he will transfer to the University of Houston.
Smith will have three years’ eligibility and gives the Cougars their likely replacement for Clayton Tune as the school moves into the Big 12 in 2023. In the last two seasons at Tech, Smith led the Red Raiders to a couple key victories over Mississippi State in the Liberty Bowl in 2021 and overtime wins over UH and Texas this season.
