Changes to benefit payments The changes – which will affect many people on Universal Credit – are due to the two May bank holidays. And anyone due a Universal Credit payment on Monday 27 May will see the payment reach their bank accounts early too – on Friday 24 May. Likewise, those who are due a payment on Monday 27 May will instead get their payment on Friday 24 May.
