Storm Babet will be hitting Yorkshire and the rest of the UK from tomorrow
So far, a yellow weather warning for rain has been put into place across much of the country, including Leeds itself. A total of up to 100mm of rain is expected to fall on Friday but the storm will reach land two days before, reports The Mirror.
A yellow warning for rain is in place across Leeds from 6am on Thursday - making that the most likely time the storm will hit. Babet is the second named storm of the season so far, and the Met Office has warned it could have severe effects on areas across the country. Extremely heavy rain could lead to flooding and disruption across swathes of the UK.
The weather warning will be in place from 9pm and last all the way to the weekend with the north and north east bearing the brunt of the stormy weather. All warnings are currently forecast to come to an end on Saturday with the last ending on midday.
