Residents have been basking in the sun recently with temperatures reaching as high at 22C, however, the sunny skies are set to dramatically disappear as heavy rain pours across the city.
Glasgow will today, Wednesday May 22, be hit with heavy rain and thundery showers following a spell of warm weather.
According to the Met Office - whose website currently appears to be down - heavy showers may lead to flooding and some travel disruption. There is a chance that homes and businesses could be flooded and there could be 'danger to life' due to fast flowing or deep floodwater. The BBC forecast for Glasgow reads: "This afternoon will gradually see persistent and heavy rain pushing from the south and east, soon becoming widespread. Freshening winds, gusty in spots."
