Long a favoured beach location for the wealthy, demand has surged even more one of the few Gold Coast’s beachfront lower-rise strips.
Gold Coast’s low-rise beachfront community: Hedges Avenue runs between Miami Beach and Broadbeach.
Longer-term owners on the beachfront strip, which runs parallel to the Gold Coast Highway, also include auto dealership chain boss Warren von Bibra, former Queensland Tourism chairman Terry Jackman, Rich List developer Max Beck and Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby. They will no doubt be pleased to know the recent string of purchases is shoring up property values more strongly than during the last peak.
And it is unique. The one-way Hedges Avenue that runs north from Miami Beach to Broadbeach offers the only village-style beachfront community, with a height limit of three storeys – which makes it pretty unusual for Gold Coast. It is close to The Star Gold Coast casino, Pacific Fair shopping centre, and Broadbeach’s restaurants.
The Brosnan couple also bought a knock-down-and-rebuild opportunity for $6.6 million a few places up the street.
