Exiled Victorian Labor MP Will Fowles has been arrested and interviewed about the sexual assault allegation that saw him forced out of the Labor caucus.
The member for Ringwood, in Melbourne’s east, was forced to resign from the Parliamentary Labor Party in August after then-Premier Daniel Andrews referred a complaint of “serious assault” against a state government employee.

“The details of the claim have not been put to me. I strenuously deny any allegation of assault. It is not true. There was no assault. “It is now eight weeks since the former premier referred an allegation to Victoria Police,” Fowles said in a statement on September 30.
