Here's where you can watch Friedkin's last movie.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, the final movie from late Exorcist director William Friedkin, has found a streaming home. Friedkin, who passed away on August 7, is best known for The Exorcist, but has also directed other hits like The French Connection, Rules of Engagement, and To Live and Die In L.A., among many others.
Now, THR reports that The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial has been picked up by Paramount Plus for international distribution following its Venice Film Festival premiere this past weekend. Paramount Plus will handle the international release of the film in territories like the U.K., Canada, France, South Korea, Ireland, Italy, Germany, the Caribbean, Australia and Latin America. Domestically, the movie will be released on Showtime.
The movie features a standout cast of actors, including Jason Clarke, who recently appeared in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, Kiefer Sutherland, Lewis Pullman, Jake Lacy, Tom Riley, Monica Raymund, Gabe Kessler, and the late Lance Reddick. The movie will mark a posthumous release for Friedkin, Wouk, who passed away in 2019, and Reddick, who passed away in March of this year.
Friedkin enjoyed a varied and unpredictable career, jumping from one genre to the next with ease throughout his active decades. Tonally, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial is set to be quite different from The Exorcist or The French Connection, as well as his more recent movies like The Devil and Father Amorth and Killer Joe. It remains to be seen when Friedkin's final movie will become available to general audiences, but the film evidently marks the passing of a cinema legend.
