More unseasonably warm weather will continue through the end of the year. But come New Year’s Day, temperatures will drop off sharply., afternoon highs in the mid- to upper 70s are forecast for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Patchy fog spotted throughout North Texas on Monday morning was likely to clear up by the afternoon, giving way to partly sunny skies. The high was expected to reach 78 and 80 degrees in Dallas and Fort Worth, respectively.KXAS-TV meteorologist Wes Houx said. Most of the work week looks warm and dry, but showers and storms could move through the area Tuesday night into Wednesday and cool temperatures slightly. Rain chances return Friday night and into Saturday, Houx said.
A cold front will roll into North Texas this weekend, dropping high temperatures from about 70 degrees on Saturday to the mid-40s on Sunday. Overnight lows in the 20s are expected Saturday and Sunday nights. The weather service advises people to use this week not only to decide on New Year’s resolutions but also to prepare for the cold weather.
