All of the nine people who have caused a fatality after driving into southern Queensland floodwater since 2021 have been men.
Southern Queensland 's older drivers are not adhering to flooded road advice.Experienced male motorists have been involved in all nine southern Queensland flooded road fatalities since 2021.
"Just because you've got a four-wheel-drive doesn't mean you are going to be safe driving through floodwaters,' he said.He said drivers needed to reconsider their travel plans if serious rainfall was forecast.The southern Queensland police district covers 426,000 square kilometres, spanning from Springfield in the east to the South Australian border in the west.
"You are going to see a lot of our motorcycle highway patrol officers out on highways, there's a certain number of selected highways, and quite a few of them are in this region."State Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg said the government would play a role in ensuring roads were up to scratch before and after floods.
