The Russian Defence Ministry on Monday said it had intercepted two Ukrainian drones in the Saratov and Ryazan regions.

"The Kyiv regime, in order to disable Russian long-range aircraft, made attempts to strike with Soviet-made unmanned jet aerial vehicles at the military airfields Dyagilevo, in the Ryazan region, and Engels, in the Saratov region," the ministry said. Three soldiers were killed and four were left injured, while two warplanes were slightly damaged when the aircraft fell and exploded.posted to social media indicated the blast occurred at the Engels-2 airbase, near the south-western city of Saratov. Another blast took place in Dyagilevo military airbase near the city of Ryazan, about 200 kilometres southeast of Moscow.
