A suspected terror plot targeting the Great Synagogue and the Sydney Jewish Museum in Australia was uncovered after an explosive-laden caravan was discovered. Sky News host Sharri Markson revealed the chilling details, emphasizing the horrifying intent to attack a Holocaust memorial and educational centre.

Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson revealed the two intended targets of a suspected antisemitic terror plot - one being the site of a prominent synagogue in Sydney - after a caravan was discovered packed with explosives. Markson on Thursday identified The Great Synagogue and the Sydney Jewish Museum in Darlinghurst as the two targets. The Great Synagogue in Sydney was one of the targets of the suspected terror plot, Sky News Host Sharri Markson revealed.

Picture: NewsWire / John Appleyard During her editorial on Thursday night, Markson said the addresses of the two prominent Jewish landmarks had been written down inside the caravan. 'To think perpetrators would have potentially targeted a museum commemorating the Holocaust - a time when six million Jews were killed - is truly horrifying,' Markson said. 'This is a museum to educate the public, to educate future generations and to honour the memories of those lost and to make sure antisemitism never happens again.' Markson revealed she has a personal connection to The Great Synagogue, saying she had her batmitzvah there and her parents were married at the place of worship. The Great Synagogue on Elizabeth Street in Sydney is more than 140 years old, having opened to the public in 1878. The synagogue is considered to be one of the 'most visible and visited Jewish buildings in Australia', according to its website. The Sydney Jewish Museum functions as both a Holocaust memorial and educational centre. Picture: Justin Lloyd / NCA It was founded in 1992 by Holocaust survivor John Saunders with support from other survivors who made new lives in Sydney after World War II. Each year the museum welcomes hundreds of students and other patrons who come to learn about Jewish culture and heritage. She claimed there were operational reasons behind the decision and criticised the reporting of The Daily Telegraph which uncovered the 10-day old discovery
