Collingwood have kept their AFL finals hopes alive with a stunning one-point win over Brisbane at the MCG on Saturday. The Magpies looked dead and buried with five minutes left, but kicked the final three goals to steal the unlikeliest of victories. Lachie Schultz was heroic with two goals before Beau McReery capped the comeback with a stunning snap. There were still two minutes left when the Pies hit the front, but they held on in extraordinary scenes.
Brisbane were made to pay for blowing a number of gettable chances during the third quarter through Cam Rayner, Zac Bailey and Will Ashcroft to leave Collingwood just 14 points behind at the final break. The Lions appeared home when Charlie Cameron’s clever snap put them 17 points in front at the 20-minute mark of the final quarter.
