The State College Police Department said that fans arriving from the west and south should expect 'considerable delays' caused by ongoing Atherton Street construction.

this week said lane restrictions in place around the Atherton Street and Beaver Avenue intersection will still be in place on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, when the Nittany Lions take on Delaware at noon in Beaver Stadium. “Expect extreme congestion during the morning. People attempting to get to their [West Zone] parking spots from the west and south should expect considerable delays,” police said.said work will be suspended on the project today and tomorrow, Sept. 8-9 “to avoid impacting traffic heading to the Penn State Nittany Lions game against Delaware.”The $30.7 million project to reconstruct South Atherton Street is expected to be finished in the fall of 2024.
