Senator Jacqui Lambie has blasted the “extremely distasteful” politicisation of the Brittany Higgins case, urging all parliamentarians to dump the issue from the political arena.

The case is set to dominate both the Senate and the House of Representatives in the final sitting week of parliament as the Coalition is expected to target Finance Minister Katy Gallagher over her knowledge of the allegations prior to them becoming public.
