A landmark external report into the culture of big four consulting firm EY has found 11 per cent of personnel reporting they routinely worked more than 61 hours a week. The firm blamed a business model focused on “profit and delivery over people”.

Mr Larocca vowed to build a workplace that was a “more respectful and inclusive workplace” and said the firm would accept all Ms Broderick’s recommendations. The firm’s excessive working hours were not “experienced equally”, with almost one in three working more than 51 hours a week regularly, the report says.

The report found that the firm’s sizeable ethnic workforce, along with those who were religious, were more likely to experience racism.
