It's going to be tough for Facebook to convince most people that they have to have a gadget that can replicate a few of their phone's features while sitting on their face — even one that looks this good, RachelMetz writes.

On a sunny May day in 2012, Google cofounder Sergey Brin walked down King Street in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood with a pair of black, lens-free smart glasses on his face.

He was trying out Google Glass about a month before the company publicly unveiled the device. But he wasn't actually doing anything with it, because it was out of batteries. Google Glass eventually flopped as a consumer product, with some wearers of the gadget dubbed"Glassholes" for the perceived creepiness of the device and its prism-shaped over-eye display.
