Facebook has started locking accounts that haven't been set up for two-factor authentication.
If you haven't enabled two-factor authentication for Facebook, you'll be seeing this before long.I got a text from a friend telling me he’d been locked out of his Facebook account. There was a message on his screen telling him to turn on a feature called Facebook Protect to unlock his account.
It turns out that Facebook Protect is real, and Facebook had locked his account because he had not turned on I had him click the back button to get back to a screen that gave three choices for the two-factor authentication method. The easiest choice for him is to enter a cell number so Facebook can text a code to your phone each time you log in.
I’ve been an advocate of setting up two-factor authentication wherever you can, and I set up mine on Facebook a long time ago. This is a good thing, but setting up two-factor isn’t always the easiest thing to do.
