'I hope you choke': Facebook Marketplace seller shares wildly unhinged exchange with buyer demanding heavily discounted KitchenAid mixer at 4am A woman trying to sell her KitchenAid mixer online was left stunned after a potential buyer bombarded her with messages in the middle of the night - but then the exchange got even weirder.
A Facebook Marketplace exchange over a KitchenAid mixer has gone viral after a potential buyer unleashed a bizarre string of messages that left social media users horrified. US comedian and podcaster Chris Guerra shared the jaw-dropping interaction on Instagram, where he hilariously reenacted the conversation while wearing a wig and cap to portray the anonymous buyer.
"This person put a mixer on Facebook Marketplace and this is an actual conversation," Guerra told viewers before diving into the exchange. The seller had listed the KitchenAid mixer online for USD$150 when the messages began flooding in during the early hours of the morning. At 4:25am, the potential buyer wrote:"Hi, I'm contacting you about the KitchenAid. What's a good time to call you and figure out the details?
""Are you getting my messages? I need this done by tomorrow," the buyer wrote. Picture: Instagram @chriswguerra"Why the f*** aren't you reading my messages.
You are rude and a horrible person. I've never been this disrespected in my life," the buyer snapped. The stunned seller replied:"WTF. You messaged me in the middle of the night, I was asleep.
Why would you expect otherwise?
" The seller also explained another buyer had already expressed interest in the mixer and they were waiting to hear back before making a decision. That only appeared to further anger the potential buyer, who bizarrely insisted sellers should"be available for potential customers 24/7". The buyer then claimed to have already spoken to someone named Andrew, insisting:"I spoke to Andrew and he said I could have the mixer.
" When the seller again failed to respond immediately because they were getting ready for work, the buyer erupted once more. "To be frank, even if they pass, I'm not selling it to you," the seller responded. "Stop messaging me. "The buyer claimed"Andrew promised me the mixer and said you'll be dropping it off tonight" because their daughter was expecting a cake the following day.
The confused seller reiterated the listing was"pickup only" and replied:"I have no idea who the f*** Andrew even is.
""I don't have a brother named Andrew," the seller replied. "Do you mean Eric? " "Yes. Your brother.
What time should I expect you tonight? And I think you should let me have it for fifty you were so rude to me today," the buyer responded. Despite repeated attempts from the seller to end the conversation, the buyer continued demanding a discount, claiming they were experiencing financial hardship. Picture: Instagram @chriswguerra"I need the lower price on the mixer, I'm on financial aid, and I can't afford $150," the buyer wrote.
They later added:"Are you seriously going to let my family starve to save $100? I'm on financial aid. Can't you show a little compassion? How cold is your heart?
" In a final sarcastic jab, the seller joked they were eating a lemon cake they had recently baked - prompting the buyer to chillingly reply:"I hope you choke. " The exchange quickly exploded online, with thousands of users saying the chaotic interaction perfectly captured the"unhinged" behaviour of some users on Facebook Marketplace.
'I wouldn't believe this is real if it wasn't for people really acting this crazy to me when I tried to sell stuff on fb marketplace," one Instagram user wrote. Others shared their own horror stories from selling items online. One user recalled trying to sell fabric for $30 when a woman asked if they would donate it because she"needed it for her daughter's graduation".
"I told her I had cancer and needed the money because I was going to lose my apartment, going through surgery and not working," the commenter wrote. Another user penned:"My anxiety level soared listening to this because I know how accurate it is! Some people" while a fourth said:"Thanks - I had a similar thing happen to me and I feel seen now.
" One person remarked:"It's pure insanity. You don't need a KitchenAid stand mixer to make a cake- just use a whisk or even a spoon.
" Another user added:"Dear Karen: your lack of planning does not create an emergency for me. Perhaps you should plan a birthday cake more than 24 hours in advance. "
