In northern NSW, more than half of the businesses investigated by the Fair Work Ombudsman were found to be non-compliant with workplace laws.
Of the 33 businesses, 20 were non-compliant with workplace laws."Recordkeeping is where the employer is required by law to write down what hours their workers are doing, who they are, what they're paying them … what we're finding is employers are not keeping good records," she said.
In northern NSW, 61 per cent of businesses investigated were found to be non-compliant with workplace laws.In February and July, inspectors investigated 32 businesses in SA's Riverland region. They have so far issued seven infringement notices for $13,764, with the remaining investigations ongoing. In the past two years, 41 investigations of approved employers under the SWP took place and Fair Work issued six compliance notices and recovered $78,303 for 528 workers.National Farmers Federation president Fiona Simson says the findings are disappointing.
