FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After 20 months of bargaining and 14 months without a contract, educators, support staff, and the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District have made substantial progress.
The FNSBSD and the Education Support Staff Association also reached a tentative agreement on Friday, August 4. For the ESSA contract, retention bonuses were also agreed upon, plus a one and four percent increase to pay. The current healthcare plans will also be maintained for both ESSA and FEA.
